What happens during a coaching session? What do I need to provide to my coach?
During a coaching session, your selected coach will review your gameplay and provide advice on the most effective ways for you to improve. Depending on the length of the scheduled session, your coach may be able to review more than 1 of your games, so it's recommended to provide your coach with at least 2 VODs or replays to be safe. There are 3 ways coaches can review your gameplay:
- VOD Review (recommended). Your coach will review a pre-recorded video-on-demand ("VOD") of your point-of-view during a game. This gives your coach the most visibility into your gameplay and is recommended. For information on how to record and share a VOD with your coach, see this FAQ answer.
- Replay Review. If you don't have a VOD, don't worry. Your coach can also review a replay file from a recent game that you've played. Make sure that the games you'd like your coach to review are within the last 20 games played on the account listed on your ProDiff profile and were played on the most recent patch. Let your coach know which games you'd like them to review via ProDiff's Inbox or Discord!
- Live Coaching. If you don't have a VOD or any eligible replays, your coach will provide real-time advice while you play a live game during your scheduled session.
How can I contact my coach?
You can contact your coach via ProDiff's on-site messaging or via Discord.
- ProDiff Messaging: After booking a session, go to your inbox (available on the top bar). Click on your coach's name (NOT their profile icon!), and type your message into the box below.
- Discord: Join ProDiff's Discord server here. Find your coach's name (they'll have a coach role) and send them a direct message.
Where are my sessions held? How do I join ProDiff's Discord?
Sessions are held on the ProDiff Discord. Join the waiting room voice channel before your session start time so that your session can begin promptly.
How do I create and share a VOD with my coach? What if I don't have a VOD?
Recording a VOD:
Before your next game, install a screen capture program, such as OBS. Make sure to enable the screen capture program at the beginning of the game you’d like to record. After your game, upload the video file to YouTube - make sure you have a verified phone number on your YouTube account, as the video will be longer than 15 minutes.
Sharing a VOD with your coach:
You can share a VOD with your coach at the time of booking or at any time before your lesson.
- If you have the VOD ready before booking, share the video link with your coach in the "Additional Information" field.
- If you are creating the VOD after booking, you can share the video link with your coach via ProDiff's Inbox or via Discord (all coaches are members of ProDiff's discord) and you’re all set. If you run into any problems along the way, reach out to contact@prodiff.gg or to a ProDiff staff member on our Discord.
I don't have any VODs:
If you don't have any VODs, don't worry. Just let your coach know via ProDiff's Inbox or Discord DM which of your past 20 games you'd like them to review (e.g. Please review the Malzahar game I played on January 1, 2025 where I went 5/3/8). Make sure the games were played on the most recent patch!
I'm not trying to go pro. Will I benefit from coaching on ProDiff?
Yes! By working with a pro, you can learn which skills to prioritize at your level of play and which techniques can wait until you (or your teammates) are more proficient.
What are ProDiff's cancellation, rescheduling, and refund policies?
- Cancellation Policy: Once a coach confirms a booking, student cancellations will not be refunded. If you’d like to request an exception to this policy, please contact our team via email.
- Rescheduling Policy: Reschedule requests will be honored solely at the discretion of ProDiff. Please contact our team via email in order to request a reschedule.
- Refund Policy: No-show students are not eligible for refunds. A student failing to arrive within 15 minutes of the scheduled session start time will count as a no-show. If a coach cancels at any time or does not attend the scheduled lesson, the student will be refunded. If a student is not satisfied with the quality of their coaching, they can contact our team via email within 24 hours of the scheduled session end time in order to request a refund. Requests will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
What fees does ProDiff charge?
ProDiff is transparent about our fees. We charge students a 6% fee and coaches a 10% commission on earnings. So, for a session listed at $100, the student will pay $106, and the coach will receive $90. ProDiff receives $16, which covers payment processing and site operations.
